Thomas P. Dockendorff

 

Thomas P. Dockendorff, 84, of St. Cloud, MN, died Thursday, April 14, 2022, at St. Cloud Hospital.

Tom was born in La Crosse, December 25, 1937, to Dr. Bernard and Dorothy (Zernecke) Dockendorff. Tom married Mary Brogan, August 26, 1961, in Adams, Wis. His career was in teaching, the majority of it at St. Cloud State University for 32 years, until he retired. He loved geography, history and traveling the U.St. One of his favorite subjects was the Civil War, especially Gettysburg. He also enjoyed watching sports, fishing, and hunting pheasants.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary; sons: Thomas Dockendorff (and friend, Jean-Anne Castle) of Knoxville, TN, James (Denise) Dockendorff of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter, Jean (Jeff) Mitchell of Sherman Oaks, CA; three beloved granddaughters: Kirsten, Nadia (Jace Woode) Dockendorff and Daisy Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bernard.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Rev. Gerald Dalseth will officiate. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN, at a later date. A visitation will be held Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Tom’s family would like to thank the St. Cloud Hospital Telemetry unit for their wonderful care of Tom. Also, the Home Instead, and especially our devoted caregiver.
