Wallace “Wally” W. Stellflue

 

Wallace “Wally” William Stellflue, 76, of rural Ettrick, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in his home.

Wallace was born June 17, 1944, in rural Ettrick, to Donald and Mable (Salzwedel) Stellflue. He attended the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District. Wally worked on his family farm while attending school. At an early age, he started driving truck and worked for Bob Truex Trucking in Ettrick.

Wally met Donna May McKenzie and they were married October 23, 1976, in Ettrick. Donna preceded Wally in death, July 30, 2016.

Wally was also a logger for Webster Lumber in Blair. This is where he met Bruce Thompson. They went on to own and operate a logging business. They later purchased a farm together that they ran until Wally retired.

Wally is survived by a son, Trevor Stellflue of Ettrick; a stepson, Brad (Robin) McKenzie of Osseo; two sisters: Beverly (Glenn) Tranberg of Ettrick and Shirley Kopp of Poynette; two brothers: Donald Jr. and Lloyd Stellflue, both of Ettrick; two brothers-in-law: Steven McKenzie and Mike Lovejoy, both of La Crosse; also several nieces & nephews as well as many close friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Wally was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law: Judy Delaney and Jean Lovejoy; and two brothers-in-law: Ward “Billy” McKenzie and Ken Kopp.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Blair. Pastor Adam Arends officiated. Burial was at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park in La Crosse.

Friends could call one hour prior to the service.

Jack Funeral Home in Blair assisted the family with arrangements.
