Warren L. Rhude

Warren Lee Rhude, 86, died peacefully in his home,  Monday, February 23, 2026, at Arbor Lakes Senior Living in Maple Grove, MN. Warren was born in Winona, MN, July 30, 1939, to Percival Orville and Margarethe Ann (Syverson) Rhude.

Warren grew up on the family farm in Arcadia, and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1957. He married Marcene Schwertel, November 14, 1959, at American Lutheran Church in Arcadia. They later divorced. Warren worked as a truck dispatcher for many years starting at Gateway Transportation Company in La Crosse. On February 28, 1992, he married Shirley Neuberger at North Heights Lutheran Church in Arden Hills, MN. After retirement, Warren and Shirley moved to The Villages, FL. While in Florida, they enjoyed the weather, golfing and The Villages retirement community. In 2023, they moved back to Maple Grove, MN.

Warren is survived by his wife, Shirley; three children: Michael (Darlene) and John (Mitzi) of Arcadia, WI, and Stacey (Dale) Picotte of Milaca, MN; stepson, Robert (Deb) Neuberger of Hanover, MN, 10 grandchildren: Camryn Rhude, Philip Bernard, Shanna (Cory) Rhude, Codey (Abby) Rhude, Blake Rhude, Tyler Burrows, Kaylee (Terrel) Jacquet, Ciara Burrows, Ashley (Zach) Karna and Tyler (Courtney) Picotte; two step grandchildren: Mitchell ( Abby) Neuberger and Danielle (Ryan) Long; and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mitchell; and stepdaughter, Sammarie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Tamarack Lutheran Church, Arcadia. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a service beginning at 2:40 p.m. There will be a private burial at Tamarack Cemetery later this spring.
