Wayne “Weiner” Konter

 

Wayne “Weiner” Konter, 81, of Buffalo City, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021, at St. Michael’s Assisted Living in Fountain City.

Wayne was born July 26, 1939, at home in Waumandee, to Emil and Dorothy Konter. Wayne was united in marriage to Doris Walek, May 11, 1963, and with the grace of God, two sons were born to this marriage: Jeffrey and Douglas.

Wayne worked in construction for the majority of his life and retired from the Cochrane Mill. He and Doris were the proud owners of Waumandee Bar for nine years. Wayne was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus in Arcadia, and often went bowling with them. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, any outdoor activities, watching the Packers and the Brewers, but his biggest love was the love for his family. He had a strong passion for life and lived it to the fullest.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Doris; his sons: Jeff (Michelle) Konter, and Doug (Deb) Konter; his grandchildren: Reed Konter, Macey Konter, Erin Konter, Cory Konter and Christopher Konter; his sister, Betty Klimek; and brother, John Konter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Dorothy; brothers: Don and Bernie Konter; and sister, Bernadine “Toots” Shank.

A Memorial Mass was held Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fountain City. Father Doss officiated. A Memorial Gathering was held from 11:00 a.m., until the time of Mass.

Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Scenic Rivers Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
