David M. Waldera

 David “Smoothie” Michael Waldera, 66, of Arcadia, passed away December 23, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

 David was born in Arcadia, November 16, 1954, to Severin and Marion (Motzsko) Waldera. He graduated from Arcadia High School with the Class of 1972. On September 13, 1975, he was united in marriage to Mary Ruth Meinerz at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Arcadia. Together, the couple dairy farmed in Thompson Valley and raised four children. David was a member of Holy Family Parish.

 David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ruth of Arcadia; mother: Marion Waldera of Whitehall; son, Michael (Heather) of Barneveld; daughters: Erika (Christopher) Johnson of Oregon, WI, Elizabeth (Tom) Mack of Fitchburg, and Rebecca (John) Scott of Oregon, WI; eight grandchildren; brother, Gary (Sharon) of Arcadia; sisters: Mary Kay Hagen and Karen Waldera both of Arcadia; and an aunt, uncle and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Severin.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately at Holy Family Catholic Parish with Father Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Glencoe, rural Arcadia. To express condolences to his family online, please visit www.wozneykillianfh.com.
