Wildcats top Wolves

Blair-Taylor coach Jesse Lien said his team started slowly but picked up the pressure in the second half in a 64-52 win over Elmwood/Plum City on Saturday.

B-T took the lead before halftime before playing more aggressively and getting easy baskets in the second half.

“We were a bit sluggish coming out of the locker room in the first half,” Lien said. “The ladies responded extremely well in the second half. Their energy level and their effort was extremely high. For that, I was extremely impressed.”

Andrea Waldera finished with a team-high 20 points while Samantha Aguilar scored 12 and Andi Beck finished with 11.

The win put B-T at 5-3 on the season before Monday’s game at Augusta. The team is 4-3 in Dairyland Conference play behind Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran (5-3) and Cochrane-Fountain City (5-2) in the Small Division.

B-T is set to host Independence/Gilmanton on Friday and play at De Soto on Saturday.
