AHS track teams get top finishes in two meets
While team scores weren’t kept in either meet, the Arcadia boys and girls track teams came away with some first-place finishes last week.
The Raiders had top finishes in the Mondovi quadrangular competing against Mondovi and Fall Creek last week Tuesday. On Friday, they competed in a five-team meet, but still were able to come away with top finishes.
Arcadia is back in action on Thursday in Westby before competing this coming Tuesday in West Salem and next week Friday at La Crosse Logan.
Mondovi Quad
While no team scores were kept and the individual results were incorrect in some spots, the Arcadia track teams did manage to take home a handful of first-place finishes at the Mondovi quadrangular last week Tuesday.
Jose Monroy won both the 400 (57.4) and 3200 (11:02) while Cole Lockington took the 1600 title. The Raiders also got a first place finish in the 400 relay with Jose Verde, Nathan Marticorena, Benny Jimenez and Brett Rebhahn running a time of 49.9.
Rylie Pronschinske was the only field event champion for the Arcadia boys, winning the pole vault at 10-6.
The Arcadia girls team won three field events with Amy Losinski taking the shot put (29-11.25) and Rachel Knudsen winning the discus (80-0) to give them a sweep in the throwing events. Casidi Pehler gave the Raider girls team a third first-place finish in the high jump, 4-10.
Arcadia coach Tim Braunschweig said the meet was hand-timed and the results beyond the Arcadia first-place finishes listed were often incorrect.
Luther meet
Both Arcadia track teams had multiple first-place finishers in the five-team meet.
Autumn Passehl and Kianna Suchla both came away with top finishes for the Arcadia girls. Passehl won the 200 while Suchla took first in the 800.
Cole Lockington toppd the field in the 3200 for the Arcadia boys, which also got first-place finishes from the 400 relay team and Charlie Siewert in the shot put.
