Arcadia blanked by Columbus in Level 1 rout

The Arcadia football team worked their way back into the playoffs for the first time in three years. However, that stay would be shortlived.

Second seed Marshfield Columbus (10-0) rolled to a 52-0 shutout win over seventh seed Arcadia (5-5) in their Division 4 Level 1 matchup on Friday, October 25 in Columbus.

The unbeaten Cardinals were a tough draw in the first round for the Raiders, as the former has been a force to be reckoned with in recent years. Since 2021, Columbus boasts a 45-4 overall record and took home the Division 4 state championship in 2022.

Stats from Friday night’s game were not made available at the time of publication.

The Raiders finish their 2024 season with a 5-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in Coulee play that left them in a tie for fourth in the conference standings. It was a notable step in the right direction for a program that went a combined 5-13 with a 2-12 record in conference play the previous two years.
