Arcadia, G-E-T football players named All-CC

Football players from Arcadia and Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau made up 15 of the 24 slots on the All-Coulee Conference First Team, announced last week with a combination of players from the fall and alternate fall seasons.

Arcadia led the way with nine first-team selections, including Evan Pauly and Kaden Updike who earned two first-team spots. Pauly was honored on the first team as both a wide receiver and a linebacker, while Updike was named as a punter and defensive back. Updike was also a second-team pick at quarterback.

Also earning first-team honors for Arcadia were Richard Gomez, offensive line; Ryan Sokup, running back; Alex Madden, special teams; Austin Zastrow, linebacker and Lane Huebner, defensive line.

In addition to Updike Logan Bremer earned second-team honors at offensive line as did Zastrow, receiver; Sokup at defensive back and Charlie Siewert at defensive line.

Joseph Rivera was named honorable mention at running back and linebacker, Bremer was honorable mention at defensive line as was Gage Instenes at offensive line.

G-E-T had six first-team members, including two linemen in Trevor Daffinson and Carter Niederkorn, who were picked for their play on both the offensive and defensive lines.

Running back Luke Vance and linebacker Aiden Lee were also first-team picks. Lee was also a second-team pick as a tight end.

Joining Lee on the second team was Justin Gappa, offensive line and Aiden Henscheid, linebacker. Justice Vaaler was an honorable mention pick at quarterback.

While the teams played in separate seasons, Arcadia had the most conference wins, finishing with a 3-1 record. The Raiders played in the alternate fall season along with G-E-T (2-1) and Black River Falls (0-3). Aquinas led the fall teams, going 2-0 while Viroqua was 1-1 and both Altoona and Westby were 0-1.

Aquinas went 5-3 overall, winning its regional bracket, Viroqua was 1-6, Westby and Altoona both finished 0-5. Arcadia and G-E-T only had losses to each other as Arcadia finished 5-1, G-E-T was 4-1 and BRF was 1-5.
