Arcadia, G-E-T girls golf season ends in regional
Golfers from Arcadia and Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau saw their seasons end as they missed the cut at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division Two regional at Trappers Turn in Wisconsin Dells last Wednesday.
The Raiders finished fifth with a score of 490, while the Red Hawks were seventh with 514. Only the top three teams and the top three individuals not on qualifying teams advanced to the sectional round.
Jazlynn Olson of G-E-T was the top area individual golfer, taking 17th overall with a score of 113. The final individual qualifier was Keagan Pokszyk of Adams-Friendship, who shot a 109.
G-E-T’s Claire Wager finished 20th with a 118 while Maddie Ruud shot a 137 and Julia Baures came in with a 146.
Amaya Schlesser had the top score for Arcadia, shooting 116, three strokes better than Riley Walters. Sacia Boland came in with 125, Kalyce Sobotta, 130 and Jordan Walters, 140.
La Crosse Aquinas won the team title, shooting a 392, well ahead of second-place Wisconsin Dells, 409 and Black River Falls was the final team qualifier shooting a 457. A-F came in with a 470, 20 strokes better than Arcadia, while Cochrane-Fountain City shot a 492.
Two of the individual qualifiers came from the Coulee Conference as Maddi Fletcher was the medalist with an 80 and Amanda Christianson tied for eighth with a 106. Both are from Westby/Viroqua, which did not have enough golfers to qualify for the team standings.
