An extended effort ended with a tie in the longest game of the 2024 season for Arcadia High School’s baseball team last week.
Arcadia played 14 innings of baseball — two full games’ worth — at Luther High School last Thursday to end Coulee Conference play. The game followed a tight loss in Black River Falls on Tuesday.
The Raiders (3-15-1, 1-10-1 Coulee) hosted Osseo-Fairchild on Monday and visited Aquinas on Tuesday. They are set to close the regular season on the road against Baldwin-Woodville on Thursday.

Login Scow pitched well enough for the Raiders to win but the host Tigers (6-10, 4-8 Coulee) took down the visitors last Tuesday.
Scow, who gave up six hits in six innings of work, struck out three Black River Falls batters and finished without a walk.
The Tigers got on the board with a first-inning RBI single, a score that held up as the only run of the game until another Black River Falls single made it 2-0 in the fifth inning.
Four different Arcadia players finished with one hit apiece.

After 13 innings of play and in a 3-3 deadlock, it looked like Arcadia was going to end the marathon when a Caleb Pronschinske single brought home Maverick Drazkowski and Carter Wegman.
Luther (10-10, 5-6 Coulee) instead clapped back with a two-run single of their own one play after an error kept multiple Knights on the bases. The game was called a tie when it became too dark to finish.
It was Drazkowski that got the Raiders started in the top of the first inning when his double brought home a pair of runs. The Arcadia senior made it 3-0 for the visitors on a single from teammate Austin Hughes in the next at-bat.
Hughes joined Wegman and Max Sobotta all co-led the Raiders with two hits apiece on a night the visitors collected 10 hits as a group.
Luther scored one run in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to force extra baseball, where the teams played a scoreless fight for five innings.
The Knights were led on offense by Owen Haas’ 3-for-7 performance. Shaw McCoy, Xander Wendt and Nic Schultz all added two hits.
Prestin Scow pitched eight innings for the Raiders, and Sobotta threw the final six innings. Scow allowed three earned runs and 10 hits. He finished with four strikeouts and two walks.
Sobotta closed the game, surrendering two hits and two runs — none earned — with five strikeouts.
