Arcadia gymnasts fall to top CC team

Without a full team, the Arcadia gymnastics team couldn’t keep up with West Salem at home last week Monday.

One of the better teams in the state, West Salem had a team score of 135.2, finishing with the best scores in all four categories. Arcadia scored a 78.3 with just three gymnasts competing.

Nora Bergerson finished third overall with an all-around score of 31.95. She scored an 8.75 on the floor, 8.0 on the beam, 7.15 on the bars and an 8.05 on the vault.

Itzel Hernandez scored a 7.2 on the vault, 5.05 on the bars, 5.5 on the beam and 6.85 on the floor for an all-around score of 24.6, good for fifth in the meet.

Litzabeth Alejo had an all-around mark of 21.75, scoring a 6.1 on the floor, 5.35 on the beam, 4.5 on the bars and 5.8 on the vault.

After a quadrangular in Marshfield on Tuesday of this week, Arcadia will head to West Salem for the Coulee Conference tournament on Friday. They return to West Salem next week Saturday for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association sectional.
