Arcadia plows past G-E-T ahead of holidays

The Arcadia girls basketball team sent themselves into the holidays on a high note with a lopsided road win over Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau.

The Raiders (6-3, 3-2 Coulee) rolled to a 67-14 victory over the Red Hawks (0-9, 0-4 Coulee) in the latest meeting of these Coulee rivals last Friday in Galesville. That marked Arcadia’s sixth straight win over G-E-T in the past three seasons.

The Arcadia sophomore duo of Tatum Drazkowski and Madison Grotjahn each managed to outscore the Red Hawks on their own with 19 and 17 points, respectively. Drazkowski recorded a double-double once again by hauling in 11 rebounds while also dishing out seven assists. Grotjahn added five rebounds as well.

Other leaders for the Raiders included junior Joselyn Lockington with 10 rebounds and sophomore Amaya Schlesser with eight points and five rebounds. Sophomore Joshlyn Lunsford tallied four points and junior Lexi James tacked on three points for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau.

After the calendar flips to 2025, the Raiders begin the new year by hitting the road to face the Onalaska Hilltoppers on Friday. The Red Hawks are in action a night earlier, hosting Sparta on Thursday.
