Arcadia soccer team surges through regional

With 15 goals in two matches, the Arcadia soccer team claimed its fifth consecutive regional title.

After winning Division Four regionals each of the last five seasons, this year’s title came in Division Three as a number of schools elected not to have a fall soccer season.

Arcadia opened postseason play with a 5-0 home win over McDonell Central/Eau Claire Regis before blasting Coulee Christian/Providence Academy 10-3 in the regional final round.

The Raiders will play in Barron for a sectional match on Thursday of this week. The winner will play in Saturday’s sectional final in Marshfield. Arcadia has advanced to the sectional final round twice in the last five years.

Arcadia enters sectional competition with a 6-2 record, after having its season interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They returned to the field a week before the tournament began.
