Arcadia sweeps Mondovi, bows out to Fall Creek
The Arcadia volleyball team treated their fans to one more home win this season with a straight-set romp in their playoff opener, but they found themselves on the opposite end of a sweep later in the week as their 2024 campaign officially came to a close.
The Raiders defeated Mondovi in straight sets on Tuesday of last week to advance to the regional semifinal. The season ended in Fall Creek, however, as the Crickets won three straight for the sweep.
As for Arcadia, that season-ending loss left the team with a final record of 14-14. The Raiders went 7-5 in Coulee play to tie for third place in the conference standings.

Arcadia’s first playoff match under head coach Natalie Anderson pitted her against the team she spent the 2010s coaching: the Mondovi Buffaloes.
The sixth-seeded Raiders dominated the night against No. 11 seed Mondovi in a Division 3 regional quarterfinal, winning each of the three sets more emphatically than the last on Tuesday, October 22 at the Wanek Center.
Setting the pace for Arcadia in the victory were sophomore Tatum Drazkowski with 13 kills and two blocks, junior Justine Sonsalla with 12 kills and 18 digs, junior Joselyn Lockington with six kills and 14 digs, senior Kaitlyn Bremer with six kills, and junior Adella Anderson with 41 assists, 14 digs and two aces.
“I thought we did a nice job of controlling the match,” Natalie Anderson said. “We stuck with our gameplan. I think the girls did what we planned to do, and they were executing what we needed to.”
With that victory, the Raiders continued a hot streak that saw them win nine of 10 matches.

The Raiders were not able to extend their postseason run into the regional finals, as No. 3 seed Fall Creek turned aside Arcadia in straight sets on Thursday.
The Crickets themselves were denied a spot at sectionals when they were upset by No. 10 seed Prescott in Saturday night’s regional final in Fall River.
Arcadia stat leaders included Bremer with four kills and five digs, Drazkowski with four kills and three blocks, and Anderson with 13 assists and three aces.
