Arcadia track teams win distance races in Westby

The Arcadia boys and girls track and field teams had four first-place finishes in distance events at the Westby Invitational on Thursday.

Team scores were not recorded, but it was the largest meet the Raiders have competed in this year with 10 teams. In addition to the host school and Arcadia, other competitors included Black River Falls, Mauston, Sparta, Richland Center, Viroqua, Cashton, Bangor and Providence Academy.

The Raiders competed in West Salem on Tuesday of this week and will run at La Crosse Logan on Friday. They’ll host a meet for the first time in three years this coming Monday.

Westby Invitational

Jose Monroy came away with two first-place finishes, leading the Arcadia track teams.

Monroy topped the field in both the 1600 and 3200 races. Arcadia also got third-place finishes from Cole Lockington in the 1600 and from Nestor Badillo in the 800. Both the 400 and 1600 relay teams also took third.

Charlie Siewert was second in the shot put.

Tegan Michalak won the 1600 for the Arcadia girls, which also got a first-place finish in the 3200 relay, run by Casidi Pehler, Autumn Passehl, Avrie Marsolek and Kianna Suchla.

Passehl added a third in the 200 as did Sky Reit in the high jump.

Seconds — Siewert, shot put, 42-6.25.

Thirds — Badillo, 800, 2:21.01; Lockington, 1600, 5:05.77; 400 relay (Nelson, Zastrow, Rebhahn, Jimenez), 47.69; 1600 relay (Teske, Rebhahn, Bremer, Glenzinski), 3:55.18.

Firsts — Michalak, 1600, 5:49.25; 3200 relay (C. Pehler, Passehl, Marsolek, Suchla), 11:06.73.

Thirds — Passehl, 200, 29.48; Reit, high jump, 4-8.
