Home cooking just in time for the holidays.

That’s what was on the menu for the Arcadia High School wrestling team last week as they hosted a triangular meet on Tuesday with West Salem/Bangor and Kickapoo/La Farge. The Raiders fell to the WSB Catbirds but won over the latter to split the event.

Arcadia was scheduled to travel to River Falls this Thursday and Friday for the Northern Badger Classic.

Eric Bustos pinned both opponents he faced on Tuesday in the 285-pound bracket and finished as the only Arcadia wrestler to do so.

Cruz Patzner (152) won both of his events, pinning West Salem/Bangor’s Max Schleppenbach in 3 minutes, 55 seconds before winning by forfeit against Kickapoo/La Farge.

Martin Aguilar (182), Eric Rodriguez (220), Matthew Badillo (126) and Hunter Fitzpatrick (138) pinned their opponent donning a Kickapoo/La Farge logo.

Fitzpatrick’s individual win secured the team win as well against Kickapoo/La Farge. West Salem collected 10 pins against the Raiders to cruise to victory in the hosts’ second match of the night.
