Arcadia’s Teske wins three events at G-E-T quadrangular

Arcadia senior Ted Teske stole the show for the Raiders at a quadrangular late last week, winning three events to set the pace for his team.

Teske won one race and two field events at the G-E-T Quadrangular, held last Friday in Galesville. Arcadia competed at the quad event along with Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, Holmen and West Salem.

Teske emerged victorious in the boys’ 200-meter dash (23.02), high jump (6-0) and long jump (21-5.75) while Andy Monroy also gave the Raiders a first-place finish in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 57.72 seconds.

The Arcadia boys had third-place showings by Alec Conrad in the 1,600-meter run (5:13.76), Trevor Pronschinske in the triple jump (34-11.75) and Trey Lyga in the shot put (43-2); fourth-place finishes by Yahir Gonzalez in the 1,600-meter run (5:19.38), David Escalara in the 300-meter hurdles (44.89) and Ben Kolstad in the pole vault (10-0); and fifth-place showings courtesy of Ony Zaragoza in the triple jump (33-8) and Jonnathan Vargas in the discus throw (109-7).

The G-E-T boys were led by senior Sawyer Smock winning the pole vault by successfully clearing the bar at 12 feet, 6 inches — a foot and a half better than any of his competitors. Westlie Olson placed second for the host Red Hawks in the triple jump with a leap of 36 feet, 11 inches.

Other notable G-E-T results included third-place finishes from Mikah Vail in the 200-meter dash (23.58) and Chase Repaal in the discus throw (114-2); fourth-place showings by Vail in both the 100-meter dash (11.60) and the long jump (19-9.25) along with Mitch Caya in the triple jump (34-2.5); and fifth-place finishes by Cavin Spitzmacher in the 1,600-meter run (5:23.77) and Kyle Seiling in the long jump (19-3).

On the girls’ side of things, the Raiders were led by junior Jaylie Dahl winning two events: the 100-meter dash (12.98) and the 200-meter dash (27.46).

Additionally for Arcadia, Linsy Cruz placed third in the 1,600-meter run (7:17.52), Malaina Tullius tied for third in the pole vault (8-0) and Shayla Rodriquez was fourth in the 1,600-meter run (8:13.41).

The G-E-T girls were led by Wolfe winning the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6 minutes, 27.46 seconds and Jayden Thill placing second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.63 seconds.

The Red Hawks had third-place finishes in a couple of field events courtesy of Aubrynn Rotering in the pole vault (8-0) and Josie Rupple in the shot put (32-1), along with a pair of fourth-place showings: Reyna Garcia in the 100-meter dash (14.05 seconds) and Brielle Hansen in the long jump (14-1).

Fifth-place finishers for G-E-T were Myrabelle Pretasky in the 100-meter dash (24.06), Jasmine Tarjeson in the 800-meter run (2:48.22), Audrey Swenson in the 300-meter hurdles (56.30) and Kaylee Womack in the pole vault (7-6).

Holmen swept the quadrangular as its boys team scored 86.5 points and the girls squad finished with 115. West Salem was the runner-up in both, scoring 64.5 points on the boys’ side and the girls’ team finished with 57.5. The Arcadia boys were third with 45 points, ahead of G-E-T’s 28. The G-E-T girls were third with 27 points, ahead of Arcadia’s 21.5. 

 

B-T boys second in DC meet

The throwing events were a strength for both Blair-Taylor track and field teams as the boys squad took second and the girls fourth at a five-team Dairyland Conference meet at Alma Center Lincoln High School on Thursday.

Adam Halverson won the discus for the B-T boys and took second in the shot put, while Jake Kling was third in both events. Destini Schenk won the shot put on the girls’ side and Josie Edie took the top spot in the discus.

The B-T boys team also got first-place finishes from Hunter Wagner in both the 200 and the 400. 

The teams from Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran swept the competition

Indee girls second at E-S meet

The Independence/Gilmanton girls track and field team dominated the distance races as it took second in the team standings at the Eleva-Strum Early Bird Invitational last week Tuesday. 

Sophia Kampa won the 800 while Kia Back took the 1600 title and Taylor Sylla topped the field in the 3200. Kampa also ran on the first-place 1600 and 3200 relay teams. Taylor Sylla was also on the 3200 team along with Anna Kent and Allie Sylla. Both Kent and Allie Sylla were on the 1600 team with Rielynn Sheahan.

Kent finished second in the 400 as did Allie Sylla in the 800 and Back in the 3200. 

The Indees also got a first-place finish from Nora Schank in the high jump. 

The Indee boys won the 3200 relay with Owen Gierok, Zander Strain, Darion Gibbs and Grant Klimek running. Sam Marsolek was second in the pole vault.

Whitehall boys win DC meet in Augusta

With eight first-place finishes, the Whitehall boys track and field team won its first Dairyland Conference competition of the season in Augusta on Thursday.

The Norse dominated the sprints, taking the top two spots in the 100 and 400 and the top three positions in the 400. Kivin Juresh won the 100 while Mason Przybylla took second. Caydan Johnston won the 200 followed by Juresh and Mason Przybylla. Przybylla won the 400 with Johnston taking second. 

Aiden Evans won both the 110 and 300 hurdles, Cole Kulig won the 800 and freshman Karston Ausderau took the triple jump title, with a leap greater than 40 feet. 

Whitehall scored 176 points, well ahead of second-place Melrose-Mindoro in the six-team meet.

The Whitehall girls team finished fourth, led by freshman Bria Pank’s wins in the 400 and the triple jump. Trinity Aasen won the 100 hurdles and Tiffany Hensley took the shot put title. 

The I/G girls finished third with strong showings in the distance races. Anna Kent won the 800 and Taylor Sylla took the 1600 title, the team did not have any entries in the 3200. The Indees also won the 400 relay with Shawnna Whitewater, Natalie Konter, Rileynn Sheahan and Nora Schank running. 

The I/G boys were fourth, led by a five second-place finishes. Owen Gierok was responsible for two, finishing as the runner-up in both the 1600 and 3200 runs.

Indee girls second at E-S meet
