B-T baseball team wins one of three

Blair-Taylor baseball won one of their three contests last week, dropping them below .500 on the season.

The Wildcats faced three Dairyland Conference opponents last week, including losses last Monday and Wednesday to Cochrane-Fountain City and Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran respectively. They finished the week on a high note, winning over Eleva-Strum in a road contest on Friday. Stats from the 9-4 loss to ECIL were not provided by press time.

B-T moves to 6-7 on the season overall and in the Dairyland, and were scheduled to face Independence/Gilmanton on Tuesday at home. Their schedule also includes a Thursday road game at Alma Center Lincoln, followed by a return home on Friday against Melrose-Mindoro.

C-FC 12 B-T 4

Tyler Thompson took the loss on the mound last Monday in C-FC, despite striking out seven Pirates.

The leading hitter for the Wildcats was Isaiah Washington, who drove in two runs on a double. Thompson, Jackson Shramek and Bryan Rogstad each added a base hit and run scored to round out most of the offense.

B-T 8 E-S 4

Kyle Steien got things done for the Wildcats on both sides of the plate on the road against the Cardinals, striking out seven in a win on the mound while driving in two and scoring twice on three hits in his five plate appearances. Thompson pitched the final two innings to close the door on the victory.

B-T scored four runs in the first inning with a two-out rally that led them to the victory. Also tallying three hits were Rogstad, who drove in one and scored twice, as well as Matthew Waldera, who drove in one and scored one. Washington also added a two-hit day, driving in two, walking once and scoring once.
