B-T boys second, girls fourth at DC championship meet
The Blair-Taylor boys cross country team had two top-10 finishers as they took second in the team standings.
The Wildcats finished well behind meet champion Cochrane-Fountain City, but four points ahead of Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran.
Jacob Olson led B-T, finishing seventh overall while Delorean Peterson was 10th. Ole Heuer and Armoni Samples gave the team four in the top 20 as the former was 14th and the latter 18th while Anthony Oldendorf finished 24th and Ryan Flynn was 28th.
The top area finisher was Kevin Carroll, who finished second behind C-FC’s Wes Pronschinske. The Norse were fourth int he team standings as Ben Mohan finished 15th, Michael Spare, 20th; Nolan Thompson, 29th; Brayden Lisowski, 33rd; Payton Thompson, 34th and Matthew Poulos was 39th.
The Independence/Gilmanton boys team had three runners, led by Michael Onstad, who finished 12th. Kevin Halverson was 37th for I/G and Clay Herdahl took 44th.
B-T was the only area girls school with a full team as they finished fourth.
Madison Flynn led the team, taking fifth overall while Kenzie Brandenburg was 14th, Ella Halverson, 19th; Leah Kidd, 20th and Emmalee Johnson, 25th.
Leah Sylla led the I/G girls, taking 21st overall with And Laehn taking 27th and Bianca Najera, 33rd.
Most of the conference’s runners will race again on Saturday at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division Three Westby Sectional.
