B-T boys sixth, girls ninth at Cashton meet

The Blair-Taylor cross country teams had one top-10 individual finisher as both the boys and girls teams cracked the top 10 in team standings in their first meet of the year.

The B-T boys were paced by Delorean Peterson’s ninth-place finish as they were sixth overall. The girls team finished ninth, while the Independence/Gilmanton girls team was 12th. Three I/G boys also competed in the meet, not enough to register a team score.

Both B-T and I/G will compete in a meet at Cochrane-Fountain City this Thursday and one at B-T next Thursday.

The Wildcats had two top-20 finishes as they took sixth in the team standings

Peterson led the team, taking ninth overall while Jacob Olson was 17th. Anthony Oldendorf finished 58th for B-T followed by Ryan Flynn, 66th; Ole Heuer, 50th, Armani Samples, 72nd and Ryan Oldendorf, 76th. 

Mckenzie Brandenburg and Madison Flynn were close for the B-T girls as Brandenburg finished 26th and Flynn was 28th. Ella Halvorsen was 41st while Samantha Kidd took 49th and Emmalee Johnson was 80th.

Freshman Kia Back led the I/G girls, taking 15th overall. Leah Syllable’s finished 56th, Bianca Najera, 79th; Andi Lahen, 84th and Hannah Gierok, 85th.

Michael Onstad finished 26th to lead the B-T boys while Kevin Halvorson was 78th and Clay Herdahl finished 104th.
