B-T net team tops O-F in four sets

 

A commanding win in the first set helped the Blair-Taylor volleyball team control their match against Osseo-Fairchild.

The Wildcats dominated the first set with a 25-3 win then took a 2-0 lead. After the Thunder won the third set, B-T took the fourth to win the match.

B-T enters this week with a 4-0 record under new coach Tasha Becker after the team won just three sets all of last season. They’ll open Dairyland Conference play at home against Augusta on Thursday. This coming Tuesday, they’ll head to Independence.

After a lopsided first set, the rest of the match was close, but the Wildcats pulled out wins in two of the last three.

B-T was in complete control with a 25-3 win in the first set. The second was close, but the Wildcats pulled through at the end for a 25-22 win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Thunder had an edge in the third set and came away with a 25-18 lead. O-F had hopes of forcing a fifth set as the teams were close in the fourth, but the Wildcats came through at the end with a 25-23 win.

Madison Goodbear led B-T with 29 set assists and six service aces. 

The team had a balanced attack at the net as Lindsay Steien led the team with 18 kills with Kierstyn Kindschy adding 13 and Andrea Waldera finishing with 11. Abby Thompson added eight kills and two aces. Paige Kelly had five assists and three kills. Lexi Lofgren added a kill from the back row for B-T.
