B-T players earn All-DC grid honors

Players from Blair-Taylor took up more than a third of the All-Dairyland Conference football team, announced recently.

With some players earning first-team honors at multiple selections, the Wildcats took up 10 of the 28 spots awarded on the first-team offense and defense.

Bryan Rogstad earned three first-team positions, being named on the offensive line, linebacker and punter. Evan Nehring was a first-team selection at receiver and defensive end. Jackson Shramek was a first-team pick at running back as was Ethan Kniseley at utility. Other first-team defenders from B-T included Dylan Elvaker, defensive line; Gabe Armitage, linebacker and Zachary Nitek, defensive back.

The Wildcats also had players earn second-team honors including Seth Jahr, offensive and defensive line and NItek at receiver.

B-T surprised many in the area by finishing second in the DC at 6-1, behind only Pepin/Alma (7-1). In third was Cochrane Fountain City, 5-2, followed by Augusta, 4-3; Melrose-Mindoro, 3-4; Whitehall, 2-5; Independence/Gilmanton, 1-6 and Eleva-Strum, 0-7. 

Eric Kleinhans earned first-team honors for the Norse at linebacker while Devon McCune was a second-team pick at running back. The only I/G player honored was punter Hunter Guenther.

The rest of the first team was made up of linemen: Ryan Brevick, Ashton Radatz and Grant Hoffer, P/A and Ryder Zamora, Augusta. Receiver: Evan Olson, P/A. Running back: Demetrius Bergman, P/A. Tight end/fullback: Madox Stewart, P/A. Quarterback Austin Arnburg, C-FC and Drew Seifert, P/A and Kicker Grayden Barum, C-FC.

 Second team offensive players included linemen Ryan Knecht, C-FC; Nathan Price, Augusta; Javonny Stevens, E-S and Mitchell Berg, Mel-Min. Receiver: Drew Wicka, C-FC. Running backs: Jackson Laxon and Ben Dickinson, Augusta; Tanner Schieffer, C-FC. Tight end/fullback: Hunter Breaker, Augusta. Quarterback: Brennan King, Augusta. Utility: Andrew Bissen, C-FC and kicker Madox Stewart, P/A.

Other first-team defenders include defensive line: Nathan Price, Augusta. Linebacker: Carter Sacia, Mel-Min. Defensive line: Joe Song, Augusta. Defensive backs: Brennan King, Augusta, Cannon Mann, P/A. Utility: Alex Anderson, E-S and Demetrius Bergmann, P/A. 

The rest of the second-team defense was made up by defensive line: Ashton Radatz and Jameson Riesgraf, P/A; Kenny Koss, Augusta. Linebackers: Made Stewart, P/A; Andrew Bissen and Ryan Knecht, C-FC and Ben Dickinson, Augusta. Defensive backs: Austin Arnburg and Drew Wicka, C-FC and Ty Zeman, Mel-Min. Utility: Gavin Rich, C-FC.
