B-T track takes fourth at Mondovi Invite
Both the Blair-Taylor High School boys and girls track and field teams took fourth place at an invitational meet in Mondovi last Tuesday.
Caden Kruse secured the only first place finish for the Wildcats, winning the high jump with a leap of five feet, 10 inches.
Blair-Taylor won the 800-meter relay on both the boys’ and girls’ sides of the meet, but members of those relay teams were not available. Delorean Peterson (800, 1,600) and DaVonne Turner (200, long jump) each placed second in two events in the boys’ competition.
Sophomore Ella Halverson was beaten in the 400 by only two seconds by Paige Everson of Mondovi. Teammate Mckenzie Brandenburg also took home a runner-up finish, placing second in the 800.
The Wildcat girls got two third place finishes, one in the 400 relay and another from sophomore Sara Steffenson in the long jump.
