B-T, Whitehall players named to All-DC team
Two players from the Times coverage area were named to the All-Dairyland Conference boys basketball first team and another to the second team.
Whitehall senior Brayden Lisowski and Blair-Taylor junior Ethan Kniseley both earned first-team honors while another Whitehall senior, Grant Olson, was named to the second-team.
Lisowski was the third-leading scorer in the conference, averaging 16.2 points per game for the Norse. Whitehall was second in the Large Division with an 8-5 record, behind Melrose-Mindoro (9-4). Lisowski started on the Whitehall teams that won the conference the last two years — with a combined mark of 29-1. He helped the team advance to the state tournament in 2023 and finished his career with 902 points scored.
Olson was also a key member of the 2023 team and was second on the team with an average of 10.6 points per contest this year. He shot 41.2 percent on three-pointers, the best mark in the conference amongst all players with at least five attempts.
Kniseley was fourth in the conference with a scoring average of 15.9 points. The guard topped the conference with an average of 4.4 assists per contest. He shot 50.2 percent from the field, the second-highest mark in the conference behind only Presley Byom of Mel-Min. The Wildcats were third in the DC-Large with a 6-7 record.
Byom led the conference in scoring and rebounding as he was a first-team selection. Evan Olson of Alma/Pepin, Porter Ehrat and Cameron Lipinski of Cochrane-Fountain City, Jace Paul of Alma Center Lincoln and Vince Havemeier and Carter Rutz of Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran were also first-team picks.
Joining Olson on the second team were Keegan Stiehl and Madox Stewart of A/P; Reed Schmidtknecht and Drew Wicka, C-FC; Carter Gunderson, Eleva-Strum; Ben Rosse, ACL and Aeron Hanson and Carson Zeman, Mel-Min.
The only DC team to advance past the regional round of Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association play was ECIL, which lost to Salon Springs in the sectional semifinal round.
