Badillo, Conrad lodge top-10 finishes in Marshfield
The Arcadia cross country team got a pair of stellar performances from two of their top runners over the weekend.
Junior Nathan Badillo and senior Alec Conrad each found their way into the top 10 of the division two boys’ race at this past Saturday’s Nightfall Classic 715, held at RiverEdge Golf Course in Marshfield.
Badillo crossed the finish line in fifth and Conrad followed soon after in eighth for the Raiders, who were fourth in the team standings. Arcadia also had junior Reese Kujak in 26th, senior Bryan Simon in 31st and junior Christian Ortiz in 39th.
In the girls’ race, the Raider racers all finished fairly bunched together: sophomore Shaylah Rodriguez in 30th, junior Malanie Moreno in 31st, freshman Samantha Bustos-Sandoval in 34th, senior Abbye Rojas in 37th and sophomore Shannon Cruz in 43rd.
Rice Lake senior Carter Kucko (15:43.21) won the boys’ race while Prescott junior Kyra Dix (18:52.53) won the girls’ race by over a minute.
The boys’ team standings saw Prescott (33) in first and Rice Lake (43) in second. The West Salem girls (31) emerged victorious ahead of Prescott (37) as the runner-up.
