Badillo takes 35th for Raiders in Westby

The Arcadia cross country team got their season underway at the Ken Trott Memorial Invitational last Tuesday in Westby, where junior Nathan Badillo led the way for the Raider boys with a 35th-place finish.

In addition to Badillo, the Arcadia boys also had senior Bryan Simon in 80th, junior Reese Kujak in 89th and junior Emi Vazquez Luque in 120th.

Arcadia senior Linsy Cruz finished in 74th in the girls’ race, followed by sophomores Shaylah Rodriguez and Leah Zuniga in 77th and 78th, respectively, and sophomore Fernanda Garcia in 95th.

With only four runners in each race, the Raiders did not qualify for the team standings.

West Salem sophomore Evan Berra (13:46.3) won the boys’ race as the Panthers finished atop the team standings with 35 points, well ahead of La Crosse Logan (85) in second.

Cochrane-Fountain City senior Addy Duellman (14:47.4) crossed the finish line first in the girls’ race, where Aquinas (48 points) took first and Westby (60 points) was second in the team standings.
