Bangor ends B-T volleyball season

The Blair-Taylor volleyball team won one match in Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association play, but saw its season end in the second round.
After sweeping the New Lisbon High School volleyball team in a WIAA first round Division Four playoff matchup last Tuesday at home, Blair-Taylor fell at the hands of a sweep from Bangor on Thursday, ending the Wildcats’ season.
The Wildcats finish 2021 with a 6-13 record.

Fourth-seeded Blair-Taylor breezed by the fifth-seeded Rockets at home last Tuesday to open the playoffs.
Blair-Taylor fended off a strong first set from New Lisbon before edging the visitors 25-19. They made the second set much less of a worry in a 25-10 win, eventually ending the match with a 25-21 win in the third and final set.
Lindsay Steine had 13 kills for the Wildcats, and Madison Goodbear contributed with 24 assists and three aces. Abby Thompson added seven aces as well.

The Wildcats stayed competitive on Thursday but were unable to win a set against top-seeded Bangor.
The host Cardinals won the opening set 25-17, followed by wins of 25-15 and 15-17.
Lindsay Steien led B-T with six kills, Madison Goodbear contributed five kills and two aces.
