Blackhawks beat Red Hawks in football
Baldwin-Woodville restricted the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau offense to 47 yards on Friday in a 55-0 nonconference prep football victory.
The Blackhawks carried a 42-0 advantage into halftime at Baldwin-Woodville High School behind three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter as well as a pair of passing touchdowns and a punt returned for a score in the second quarter.
Taden Holldorf of the host Blackhawks (1-1 this season) earned 184 yards on 12 carries, scoring once. Eight different players carried the ball for Baldwin-Woodville, which finished with 426 total yards, including 326 rushing.
Kyle Seiling caught a 33-yard pass for the Red Hawks’ biggest offensive play, while Gunnar Johnson ran twice for 15 yards to lead the team. Seiling had seven tackles for the G-E-T defense, which got six more stops from Andrew Bishop.
The Red Hawks begin their Coulee Conference schedule at Luther High School this Friday. The Knights are 2-0 this season after a 45-32 win over Blair-Taylor on Aug. 23 and last week’s 28-0 win against Bangor.
