Fastpitch tournament in Pleasantville this weekend

A fastpitch softball tournament will be held in Pleasantville this Friday and Saturday.

The tournament replaced the Beef and Dairy Days, typically played in Whitehall later in the month. Beef and Dairy Days was cancelled in 2020, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Play will begin 6 p.m. on Friday when Johnson Hardware plays Ffats Brewing in a battle between two Whitehall-based teams. Johnson will be in action again for a doubleheader with the second game slated to begin at 7:30 again Shamps Bar, Pleasantville.

Saturday’s action begins at 9 p.m. as the Pleasantville Lions team plays two games right away, the first against East End Bar, Independence and the second at 10:30 against Striker’s Lanes, Baldwin.

Ffats plays Shamps at 12:30 p.m. before East End takes on Strikers at 2.

The consolation game will be at 3:30 p.m. followed by a third-place game at 5:30 and a championship at 7.
