Led by their reliable senior stalwart Adrian Bautista, the G-E-T boys earned themselves a second-place finish at their annual September home meet.
The Red Hawks put up 67 points at last Thursday’s Red Hawk Invitational at Ettrick Golf Club, finishing behind only Mauston (52 points) in the boys’ team standings, which also included Whitehall (283) in 10th and Blair-Taylor (307) in 12th.
Bautista crossed the finish line in third place with his time of 17:13.8 to lead the way for G-E-T, who also had Logan Tibbitts (18:51.2) in 13th, AJ Earney (18:56.1) in 15th, Ayden Aschenbrener (19:08.9) in 18th and Cavin Spitzmacher (19:14.8) in 22nd.
Arcadia’s Nathan Badillo also found himself inside the top 10 with a time of 18:10.2, with teammates Reese Kujak (21:53.9) and Emiliano Luque (22:13.0) in 57th and 63rd, respectively.
The Norse were led by Christopher Mann (20:38.3) in 42nd, Erick Aguilar (21:16.1) in 49th and Cayden Platteter (22:11.9) in 62nd. The Wildcats had Caiden Lien (20:24.5) setting the pace for them in 39th, followed by Robbie Brandt (22:47.8) in 67th and Aaron Pabst in 69th.
Among area teams, the Red Hawks also fared best in the girls’ team standings by placing fifth with 119 points. Arcadia (205) and Whitehall (219) wound up in eighth and ninth, respectively.
Leading the charge for G-E-T were Bella Tibbitts (23:39.4) in 20th, Harper McCutchen (23:56.0) in 22nd and Charlee McCutchen (25:43.7) in 36th. Arcadia’s top finishers were Ashly Sandoval (28:10.1) in 47th, Shaylah Rodriguez (28:46.2) in 50th and Shannon Cruz (28:49.5) in 51st.
Whitehall’s Lexi Kurth enjoyed a top-30 finish by placing 29th with her time of 24:32.7, and Anna Kurth (28:54.2) placed 52nd. Blair-Taylor did not have enough runners to qualify for a team score but were guided by Jadrean Borreson (24:37.4) in 31st and Ally Jorgenson (28:01.7) in 46th.
