G-E-T girls first, boys second at Maple Grove

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau cross country team took first and second among their girls and boys teams respectively to highlight local performances at Maple Grove Venues in West Salem last Monday.

Arcadia’s Jose Monroy and Teagan Michalak also finished in the top five individuals in their respective races as well. The final scheduled Coulee Conference meet of the year is on Saturday, with Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association sectional competition scheduled for the following Saturday.

Each of G-E-T’s top five girls finished in the top 10 as the Red Hawk girls tallied dominant finishes in their victory. Adrianna Rotering led the field in first, followed by Quinn Wenthe in fifth, Avali Bratberg in Seventh, AJ Parker in eighth, Breann Harris in ninth, Hannah Siegler in 13th and Rachel Amoth in 19th.

The second-place Red Hawk boys were led by Ethan Burmeister’s second place finish, followed by Riley Kirkey in seventh, Sam Ruiter in eighth, Carter Gold in 10th, Collin Handke in 19th, Lance Jumbeck in 23rd and Xander Burmeister in 24th.

Arcadia’s fourth-place girls were led by Michalak in third, followed by Rylee Kolstad in 11th Alyssa Schank in 29th, Cassidi Pehler in 33rd, Avrie Marsolek in 35th and Samantha Kidd in 37th.

Jose Monroy led the sixth-place Raider boys with a fourth-place finish, followed by John Severson in 25th, Cole Lockington in 33rd, Nestor Badillo in 38th, Carson Pehler in 39th and Peyton Nelson in 41st.
