G-E-T routs Viroqua to earn first win

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau football team is in the win column for the first time under new head coach Jeff Wiseman following a 54-7 win last Friday over Viroqua. 

G-E-T scored 48 points in the first half alone to earn the team both its first regular season (1-3) and Coulee Conference (1-1) victory. 

G-E-T plays at Ellsworth (3-0) this week.

Junior quarterback Ben Hilton jolted the offense against Viroqua with a big performance, throwing for 271 yards and five touchdowns with just four incompletions. 

Scoring plays and times weren’t reported to the Times, but junior running back Brady Seiling caught four passes for 105 yards and a pair of scores. Seiling added a touchdown on the ground, running three times for 15 yards. 

Junior Nate Schindler had seven carries for 61 yards and a score as well. 

G-E-T held Viroqua to just two passing yards and 133 on the ground. A fourth quarter touchdown run to Viroqua running back Austin Winker was the only blemish for the Red Hawks on defense.
