G-E-T softball clobbers BRF, beats Luther

Pitcher Genna O’Neill allowed two hits in as many games last week, continuing her strong start to the season as the G-E-T High School softball team improved to 6-2 on the year.

The Red Hawks crushed Black River Falls 11-0 in a five inning road win on Tuesday before shutting out Luther 6-0 on Thursday.

West Salem was scheduled to host G-E-T on Monday before the Red Hawks visited Arcadia on Tuesday and prepared for a visit to Westby on Friday.

G-E-T 6 Luther 0

O’Neill struck out 12 batters and walked only two Luther batters on Thursday, but the senior’s biggest contribution may have come on offense.

O’Neill cracked a three RBI triple in the first inning to get things started for G-E-T, which also got a three-run home run from senior Ryann Duffenbach in the third inning.

The Red Hawks finished with 11 hits to earn their sixth win of the season and improve to 3-0 in Coulee Conference play.
