G/M wrestlers 12th at Devils Duals

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/Melrose-Mindoro High School wrestling team finished 12th at its tournament on Saturday in Wisconsin Dells.

Senior Ben Peterson led the Titans in wins, going a perfect 5-0 with four pins. Peterson collected two wins at 170 pounds and three more at 182 pounds.

Jayce Stetzer (120 pounds) went 4-1 with two pins. Jackson Blaken (138) and Carson Koss (145) also went 4-1 for G/M. Colton Koss (106) went 3-2, as did Alex Wieczorek (220).

Layne Fry (126) finished 1-4, as did teammate Landon Windsor (152). Scott Johnson (132) and Gunnar Johnson (160) each went 2-3. Mitch Berg (195) and Cisco Jimenez also finished 2-3 on the day.

Prairie du Chien claimed the top team spot, with Aquinas placing second. The Titans beat a handful of teams, including Reedsburg, SPASH, Kimberly and Stoughton.

The Titans are scheduled to visit Arcadia on Thursday for a triangular before an invitational on Saturday in Richland Center.
