G/M wrestlers overpower Tomah
The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/Melrose-Mindoro High School wrestling co-op relied on its heavyweight wrestlers to lead them past the host Timberwolves in a 42-32 dual meet last Tuesday at Tomah High School.
Tomah got the start they wanted, winning at 120, 126 and 132 pounds after the dual opened with a forfeit win for G/M’s Terek Fry at 106 pounds.
But the Red Hawks responded with six pins for the win.
Tanner Andersen earned the visitors their first win at 138 pounds before his teammates earned G/M the win in the latter matches.
Ben Peterson earned a win at 160 pounds, as did Alex Wieczorek at 170, Justice Vaaler at 195, Bradyn Lockington at 220 and Thomas Haney at 285 pounds.
G/M wrestled in the Bi-State Classic at the La Crosse Center on Wednesday and Thursday.
