Trempealeau County’s prep gymnastics team was beaten only by the hosts during last week’s Coulee Conference meet at West Salem High School.

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/Melrose-Mindoro/Cochrane-Fountain City co-op scored 129.25 points at last Tuesday’s meet, which was enough to beat Westby/Viroqua/Cashton/De Soto’s 125.55 but short of the West Salem/Aquinas/Bangor winning score of 139.225.

All three teams will visit G-E-T High School this Friday for the final conference meet of the regular season.

Taylor Gallup was the top GMC gymnast, placing fourth with her 34.625. West Salem’s Morgan Siekert was the top individual in the all-around competition at 36.175.

Gallup’s 8.85 on vault was good for the second-best performance in the event. She took third on beam (8.4) and floor (9.25).

Four GMC gymnasts joined Gallup inside the event’s top 10, including Tori Thoma (31.775, sixth), Abbi Bronsteatter (30.975, T-ninth) and Amanda Pierson (30.975, T-ninth).

Isabell Korn of Westby/Viroqua/Cashton/De Soto placed first on beam (8.7) and bars (9.375). Seeker’s 9.25 was the best performance on vault and tied teammate Kennedy Garbers with a 9.4 for the top floor routine.

Thoma’s best event was vault, where her 8.0 was good for 11th. Bronsteatter’s best showing was on floor, where her 8.7 stood for the sixth-best score. Pierson scored an 8.525 on floor to take seventh.
