Indee girls sneak past Eagles

The Independence/Gilmanton girls basketball team edged out Alma/Pepin to stay in contention in the Dairyland Conference Large Division.

The game was close, but the Indees held a three-point lead at halftime and extended it to win 50-45. No further information was provided for the Times before press time.

The win put the Indees at 6-2 overall and 5-2 in Dairyland Conference play. The team is tied with Melrose-Mindoro and Whitehall at the top of the DC-Large Division standings. The Indees lost in Mel-Min earlier this season, but haven’t played Whitehall yet.

After a nonconference game at Cornell on Thursday, the Indees host Boyceville on Friday. The team will host Cochrane-Fountain City in Gilmanton this coming Monday and play at Blair-Taylor next Friday.
