Indee matmen sweep C-FC quad

With two outright wins and a tiebreaker, the Independence/Gilmanton wrestling team went 3-0 at a quadrangular held at Cochrane-Fountain City on Friday.

The Indees picked up wins of 54-18 over C-FC and 45-9 over Richland Center before winning the tiebreaker after a 36-36 dual against De Soto.

I/G finished the regular season with a dual record of 6-5 before they host a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division Three regional on Saturday. Like in years past, the top two wrestlers from each weight class will advance from the regional to the sectional, held in Mineral Point this year. Unlike previous years, the team standings won’t matter because team sectional events will not be held to determine the team state qualifiers. Instead, team state qualifiers will be determined based on the team standings from each individual sectional.
