Indee net team sweeps Augusta

All three sets were close, but the Independence/Gilmanton volleyball team won each to sweep Augusta in Gilmanton last week Tuesday.

The wins put I/G at 4-11 overall and 3-3 in Dairyland Conference play. The Indees hosted Alma Center Lincoln in Independence on Tuesday of this week and play Blair-Taylor in Gilmanton on Thursday. They’re scheduled to compete in a tournament at La Crosse Logan on Saturday. This coming Tuesday, the Indees return to DC competition with a match at Osseo-Fairchild.

The Indees had 16 service aces and some strong play at the net to get the sweep.

Hannah Ekern and Makiyah Scow both had five aces and Danika Ekern added four. The Indees also had 33 kills in the match as Nora Schank led the way with 11. Hannah Ekern added eight kills, while Arabelle Kniseley finished with four, both Scow and Hadley Sylla had three. 

Hannah Ekern also did most of the setting duties, finishing with 20 assists. Both Danika Ekern and Schank had 12 digs.
