Indees thump Cards in last regular season game

Before the two teams played a rematch on Monday of this week, it was all Independence/Gilmanton last week Monday, beating Eleva-Strum 16-1.

The Indees were in complete control after the first inning and cruised to the five-inning win that put them at 10-12 on the season.

The two teams met again on Monday of this week as the (2) Indees hosted the (7) Cardinals. The winner of that game will play the winner of the game between (3) Pepin/Alma and (6) Alma Center Lincoln on Wednesday. The first round of sectionals are slated to be played this coming Monday with the sectional final to be in Bangor next Wednesday.

The second batter of the game for I/G put them ahead for good.

Emerson Pronschinske led off the bottom of the first with a walk before Lydia Evans doubled her home. Evans later scored on an error, but that was just the start of a nine-run inning.  

Avery Pape doubled to score Aubrie Pronschinske and, later in the inning, Adison Pronschinske walked with the bases loaded to bring Pape home. Emerson Pronschinske singled a run in before Evans was hit by a pitch to make the score 6-0. Adison Pronschisnke then doubled, clearing the bases and putting the Indees ahead by nine runs.

The lead grew to double digits when Pape scored on a sacrifice fly by Alexis Dahl-Abramczak in the second inning.

Hilari Klopp tripled to score Aubrie Pronschisnke who led off the third with a single. Pape doubled Klopp home then scored herself on a single by Alana Back, making the score 13-0. Adison Pronschinske later hit an RBI single and Emerson Pronschinske hit into a fielder’s choice as the Indees ended the third with a 15-0 lead.

Three straight singles got one run on the board for the Cardinals in the top of the fourth, but the Indees got that back in the bottom half of the inning.

The Indees had 14 hits in the game as Aubrie Pronschinske was three-for-three with three RBIs, while Pape was three-for-three with two RBIs, Adison Pronschinske was two-for-three with two RBIs, Emerson Pronschinske and Lydia Evans both had two RBIs.

Emerson Pronschinske pitched the Indees to the win, striking out five without a walk while allowing five hits in four innings. Evans finished the game, allowing one hit in the fifth.
