Jaszewski ties for fourth at Viroqua Hills

Arcadia freshman Landon Jaszewski registered himself another top-five finish in conference action last week in Viroqua.

Jaszewski fired a 41 to tie for fourth in the individual standings at the fifth Coulee mini meet of the spring last Monday at Viroqua Hills Golf Course. Jaszewski has now finished in the top five in three of the five conference mini meets so far this season, along with a sixth- and seventh-place finish.

In last week’s action at Viroqua Hills, Westby/Viroqua senior Brooks Hoffland won by three strokes with a 37, followed by West Salem senior Kyle Hehli and Luther freshman Robert Bruns tied for second at 40.

Joining Jaszewski in a tie for fourth were Black River Falls juniors Chris Antonelli and Calvin Lakowske. Senior Nic Jumper and freshman Alex Anderson set the pace for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau by each carding a 42. They were joined in five-way tie for seventh by Westby/Viroqua Hudson Nundahl and Luther seniors Ian Bass and Synclair Byus.

The Red Hawks also had junior Kylan Olson with a 48, junior Aiden Johnson with a 49 and the sophomore duo of Braydan Vanvreede and McGuire Slaby with a 52 each.

In addition to Jaszewski, the Raiders had senior Carson Schultz with a 45, senior Stryder Miller and sophomore Brogan Solberg each with a 50, freshman Owen Anderson with a 52 and sophomore Tharren Schock with a 53.

Onalaska Luther placed first in the team standings with a cumulative score of 167, Black River Falls was two strokes back at 169 and Westby/Viroqua right behind at 170. The rest of the team standings featured West Salem (176) in fourth, G-E-T (181) in fifth, Arcadia (186) in sixth and Wonewoc-Center/Hillsboro (212) in seventh.

Jumper makes top 10 at Nekoosa Invite

G-E-T’s Nic Jumper put together a solid 18 holes last Wednesday at the Nekoosa Invitational at the Lake Arrowhead Pines Course, carding an 81 to tie for eighth in the individual standings.

Stoughton sophomore Camdyn Ketelsen fired a 75 to finish in first, Wausau West freshman Kaden Jeske was a shot back in second at 76, Wausau West senior Russell Harder and Sauk Prairie junior Graysen Dunn each shot a 77 to tie for third and Stoughton senior Drew Viney took fifth with a 78.

Merrill senior Parker Klebenow and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln junior Brandon Newago each shot an 80 to tie for sixth and Stoughton junior Jacob Hibner joined Jumper in the tie for eighth.

Other Red Hawk scores were Braydan Van Vreede with a 96, Alex Anderson with a 97 and sophomore Andrew Bishop with a 100.

Arcadia’s golfers for the day were Landon Jaszewski (84), Stryder Miller (95), Carson Schultz (99), Owen Anderson (100) and Brogan Solberg (115).

Stoughton finished atop the team standings thanks to a total score of 329, one stroke ahead of second-place Merrill at 330. G-E-T was 16th at 374 and Arcadia followed in 17th at 378.
