Course management and focusing on playing to his strengths have been points of emphasis for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau’s Nic Jumper during his senior season with the boys golf team. It all came together in a massive way for him in a spectacular nine-hole stretch for both Jumper and the Red Hawks as a team last week at Fox Hollow.

Jumper topped the rest of the field at the third Coulee Conference mini meet of the spring last Tuesday at Fox Hollow Golf Course in La Crosse. Jumper was the lone golfer to break 40 by firing a 39, two shots clear of a four-way tie for second at 41 between Black River Falls junior Calvin Lakowske, Westby/Viroqua senior Brooks Hoffland, Onalaska Luther freshman Robert Bruns and Wonewoc-Center/Hillsboro senior Jerry von Falkenstein.

“This year, (Jumper) really has been working on his course management and hitting his spots and his yardages and just learning to play his own game and his own strengths,” said G-E-T head coach Michael Jon Mullikin. “That hard work is starting to really pay off.”

Rounding out the top 10 was a five-way tie for sixth among golfers who shot a 44: Arcadia freshmen Landon Jaszewski and Owen Anderson, G-E-T sophomore Braydan Van Vreede, Luther senior Synclair Byus and Westby/Viroqua senior Hudson Nundahl.

The Red Hawks as a team also finished first overall at Fox Hollow in the team standings with a cumulative score of 173. Luther (176) was three shots back in second, Westby/Viroqua (178) took third, Black River Falls (179) placed fourth, Arcadia (181) finished in fifth, West Salem (189) was sixth and Wonewoc-Center/Hillsboro (204) came in seventh.

Additionally for the Red Hawks, freshman Alex Anderson and McGuire Slaby each fired a 45 to complete the scores that counted toward G-E-T’s team total, while juniors Aiden Johnson and Kylan Olson each had a 50.

“We have a good core group that have been together for the last three years,” Mullikin said. “They have really bonded well together. The camaraderie, the encouragement from one another, the friendly competition to push each other and that consistency that they have with one another to get better is going to be helpful. We just hope that we can keep it going.”

Other Arcadia scores included senior Carson Schultz with a 46, senior Stryder Miller with a 47 and sophomore Brogan Solberg with a 52.

Jaszewski ties for first at Ettrick GC

Arcadia freshman standout Landon Jaszewski posted his best result yet in his young high school career, tying for first overall at the fourth Coulee mini meet of the 2025 season last Thursday at Ettrick Golf Course.

Jaszewski and BRF’s Sam Aebly tied for first in the individual standings by each shooting an even-par 36 on a course with soft conditions following rain earlier in the day.

Westby/Viroqua’s Brooks Hoffland fired a 38 to finish in third and the West Salem senior duo of Kyle Hehli and Gavin Loging both had a 40 tie to for fourth.

The remainder of the top 10 featured Luther’s Ian Bass in sixth with a 41 and a five-way tie for seventh at 42 between G-E-T’s Braydan Van Vreede, BRF juniors Chris Antonelli and Calvin Lakowske, Luther senior Logan Sherry and Westby/Viroqua senior Hudson Nundahl.

Other results for the Raiders were Owen Anderson with a 49, Carson Schultz and Stryder Miller each with a 50, Brogan Solberg with a 52 and sophomore Tharren Schock with a 53.

The Red Hawks also had Alex Anderson with a 43, Kylan Olson with a 45, Nic Jumper with a 47, Aiden Johnson with a 49 and McGuire Slaby with a 52.

Black River Falls finished atop a competitive team leaderboard with their winning score of 169. Just two shots separated four teams, as West Salem was second at 170 and both Luther and Westby/Viroqua finished at 171.

Completing the team standings were G-E-T (177) and Arcadia (185). Wonewoc-Center/Hillsboro did not have enough golfers competing to qualify for a team score.
