Consistent scores throughout the 2024 season and another strong showing at last Tuesday’s Coulee Conference golf championship earned Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau junior Nic Jumper a Second Team All-Conference award.

Jumper, whose 86 at the par-71 Drugan’s Castle Mound Golf Course was the ninth-best round of any golfer on Tuesday, took the final award on the Second Team All-Conference roster.

Westby junior Brooks Hoffland was the best golfer in the field with an 8-over-par 79. Black River Falls put the finishing touches on a conference championship with 322 strokes as a team on Tuesday, clear of West Salem at 340 strokes and Westby at 341.

The champion Tigers saw two seniors round out the top three — Wyatt Madvig posted the second-best round with an 80, and classmate Chris Muir shot an 82.

Jumper wasn’t alone near the top of the leaderboard on Tuesday, as senior Domanick Knott tied for 11th with his 16-over-par 87.

Joey Theis, an Arcadia senior, led the Raiders with an 89 to finish inside the top 20.

Luther placed fourth as a team with 353 strokes, followed by Trempealeau County teams G-E-T (356) and Arcadia (379). Wonewoc-Center finished with 387 strokes.

Mason Kromrey carded a 91 for G-E-T, which also saw freshman Braydan Van Vreede finish with a 92.

Most of the remaining county golfers finished in a tight cluster—Stryder Miller of Arcadia shot a 95 and finished two strokes ahead of G-E-T junior Maddox Scow, who tied with Arcadia junior Kaiden Rotering at 97.

Senior Simon Haines shot a 98 for the Raiders, which also got a 99 from Carson Schultz.

Kylan Olson, a G-E-T sophomore, posted the final score of all county golfers with a 100.

Arcadia, G-E-T tie for fourth at Skyline Invite

Times area golfers had little time to rest after Tuesday’s conference championship—three area teams were among the eight that descended upon Skyline Golf Course in Black River Falls on Wednesday for an invitational meet.

Four golfers from Durand placed inside the top 10 and junior Logan Weissinger finished with a 2-over-par 74 to help his team win the event.

Knott finished sixth with an 83 to lead the Red Hawks, one place above Whitehall senior Grant Olson at 85. Theis again led Arcadia with his scorecard, this time with an 88.

Rotering carded an 89 for the Raiders, which also saw Miller shoot a 94, Haines shoot a 96 and Schultz finish at 98.

Kromrey scored a 90 for G-E-T and Jumper shot a 95. The Red Hawks also got a 99 from Johnson and a 102 from Van Vreede.

Cochrane-Fountain City took second with 340 strokes, and Black River Falls was third with 342. Arcadia and G-E-T tied with 367 and were followed by 371 from Osseo-Fairchild, 384 from Whitehall and 385 from Black River Falls’ second team.
