Luther takes down Arcadia in Coulee volleyball opener

Onalaska Luther earned a tiebreaker win in the first set of last Thursday’s Coulee Conference opener against Arcadia at Luther High School, a victory that propelled the hosts to win the match in four sets.

The host Knights took the opening set 26-24 before taking command of the match with a 25-7 win in the second set. 

Arcadia responded with their own dominant set, winning the third round of volleyball 25-12. Luther closed the match with a 25-13 win in set four.

Kaitlyn Bremer led Arcadia with five kills and tied for the team lead in digs (six) alongside Justine Sonsalla. Tatum Drazkowski paced the visitors in blocks (two) and aces (five). Adella Anderson was Arcadia’s busiest passer, finishing with 20 assists.

The Raiders, now 3-5 this season, were scheduled for a doubleheader at Westby High School on Tuesday against conference opponents Viroqua and Westby.
