Miller, GMC gymnastics third at West Salem invite

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/Melrose-Mindoro/Cochrane-Fountain City gymnastics team finished third at a six-team invitational meet at West Salem last Saturday. 

Abigail Miller placed third in the all-around scores with a 34.9, behind only Taylia Michelin of West Salem (36.2) and Kamryn McNally of Holmen (35.375). 

GMC’s score of 130.05 came after West Salem at 136.825 and Holmen at 137.05. Sauk Prairie came in fourth at 128.225 followed by Caledonia at 121.45 and Tomah at 104.1. 

Miller tied for first with Michelin in the balance beam with a score of 8.95 and also tied for first in the floor routine with a 9.20. She placed fourth in the uneven bars with an 8.350.

Trista Thill placed seventh in the all around for GMC, scoring a 32.950. She scored an 8.75 in floor, an 8.65 in balance beam, a 7.9 in vault and a 7.65 in uneven bars.

Thill placed fourth in balance beam and seventh in floor. 

The Red Hawks won’t compete again until Jan. 6 when they host Arcadia.
