Mondovi buffaloes G-E-T in nonconference clash

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau girls basketball team suffered their eighth straight loss to start this season with a defeat at the hands of Mondovi.

The Buffaloes (6-2) rolled past the Red Hawks (0-8) 72-25 in their non-conference matchup last Tuesday in Galesville. Mondovi built up a 44-9 lead at halftime.

Sophomore Ava Lightfoot and junior Amara Brantner tallied seven and six points, respectively, for G-E-T in the loss. Double-digit scorers for the Buffaloes were sophomore Addyson Gray with 18 points, senior Maddy Martin with 14, sophomore Olivia Snyder with 13 and senior Amber Lund with 10.

The Red Hawks are set to close out the calendar year by taking part in the Winona State University-Lewiston Auto Holiday Classic, where they’ll face Lewiston-Altura on Friday at 8:15 a.m. and then Pine Island on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
