Norse baseball team tops C-FC, ACL

The Whitehall baseball team continued its winning streak with road wins over Cochrane-Fountain City and Alma Center Lincoln last week.

The Norse got going offensively in a 12-3 win over the Pirates on Tuesday then bested the Hornets, 6-1, on Friday. The wins made it five in a row for Whitehall, which has won seven of its last eight.

Whitehall took an 8-5 record into this week, including a 6-4 mark in Dairyland Conference play behind Osseo-Fairchild (8-2) and Melrose-Mindoro (9-1). That was before Tuesday’s game against Eleva-Strum. The Norse host Mel-Min on Friday and head to Arcadia for a non-conference game on Saturday. This coming Tuesday, the team plays in Augusta.

Whitehall 12 C-FC 3

The Norse were aggressive at the plate as three players had two hits and Mason Pientok got the win on the mound.

Pientok pitched three hitless innings as the Norse took the lead. He also had two hits, including a double. Riley Herman and Grayson Pronschinske also had two hits, one of Herman’s was a triple. 

Whitehall 6 ACL 1

Alex Sartor had a big day at the plate while Luke Matejka kept the Hornets in check on the mound.

Matejka pitched six innings, holding the Hornets to just one run. 

Sartor hit a two-run home run and doubled in the game. Pientok had two hits and two RBIs and Herman also had two hits.
