Norse girls rebound with rout of Necedah
The Whitehall girls basketball team came out firing in a 71-14 win over Necedah last Tuesday.
The Norse scored the first 24 points in the game and never looked back, taking a 44-8 lead into halftime.
The win evened Whitehall’s record at 1-1 before the team played its first Dairyland Conference game, hosting Alma Center Lincoln on Tuesday. On Thursday Whitehall welcomes Blair-Taylor and will play at Eleva-Strum on Friday. Next Tuesday, the Norse are set to host Mondovi before welcoming Augusta on Thursday.

The Norse scored on nearly every possession early as it took a big lead right away.
Senior Aryana Ausderau scored six points in the opening minutes as the Norse took a 10-0 lead. Sophomore Paige Lisowski made two three-pointers as she scored eight straight points to increase the lead to 18-0 then Ida Laurila scored six straight, making the score 24-0.
Necedah ended that run, but the Norse would go on several more runs throughout the game. Whitehall took a 44-8 lead into halftime, then held the Cardinals to just six points in the second half.
Lisowski scored 23 to lead Whitehall while Ausderau added 16 and Laurila scored 10.
