The Whitehall volleyball team struggled offensively at times as it fell to two of the top three teams in the Dairyland Conference last week.

The Norse got off to a strong start with a three-point win over Alma/Pepin on the road last week Tuesday, but the Eagles won the next three sets. That win was the difference between finishing third and a three-way tie for fourth in the conference as the Eagles finished 6-3 behind Cochrane-Fountain City (8-1) and Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran (9-0).

On Thursday, the Norse couldn’t get started as C-FC cruised to a sweep.

Whitehall finished DC play at 5-4, tied with Eleva-Strum and Blair-Taylor for fourth in the conference standings. The team sat at 9-9 overall when it opened Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association play at Durand on Tuesday of this week.

Durand (18-6) is the seventh seed and Whitehall is the 10th, the winner of that match will play at (2) Fall Creek on Thursday with the regional final round set for Saturday.
